Strangulation Assessment & Response: Hybrid Course + In-Person Competency Validation

Build the knowledge and clinical skills needed to recognize, assess, document, and respond to nonfatal strangulation. This evidence-based course covers injury mechanisms, common signs and symptoms, neurological and brain-injury screening, medical forensic examination, photography, documentation, and trauma-informed follow-up care.

The program combines self-paced coursework, weekly asynchronous sessions with Diana Faugno and an in-person clinical competency validation with Christine Foote-Lucero.

Application for continuing education has been applied for through the Nevada State Board of Nursing for 56 nursing continuing-education hours.

Clinical validation will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 10th &-11th, 2026. Participants traveling from outside the state are responsible for arranging their lodging. Discounted group rates are being coordinated, with additional information forthcoming.
